David Chernault - "Drake", U/S "Oliver Warbucks" - 30th Anniversary National Tour of Annie:
*the following excerpt taken, with permission, from Mr. Chernault's Blog*
January 13, 2006 - "The Ryan girls will be leaving the show...Can you imagine going thru airports with 3 children, getting them packed and unpacked, getting them to and from school and the show each night. Meals, homework, family at home. I am constantly amazed at what these parents are able to do. I will miss them dearly. They have always given 100% each night. They were fun on stage and off. I will miss going to church with them, miss Lindsay pretending to buff my Santa boots each night before NYC, Molly's amazing energy and focus, little sister Kaleigh's hugs and Kim and Mike's friendship."
Jen Corzine, St. Louis, MO: January 12, 2006 - "Hi Kim, I wanted to tell you that my Mom and I both adored the show! My mom just couldn't stop talking about how great the girls were up there. I've read a few of the reviews and they're all correct in saying that Lindsay nearly steals the show. Both of them did a fabulous job and really stood out. The girl that played Annie was perfect! I've seen that show a million times and she was easily the best Annie that I've ever seen. So, congratulations to both of them for a really enjoyable show.
I'm sorry to hear that the girls will be resigning from the tour, only because they do such an outstanding job. But we will all be thrilled to have them back in St. Louis on our local stages! It will be good for them to get back here and have the kid life back for awhile. They have years of amazing opportunities ahead of them. I'll keep checking their website to see what they're up to so I can make sure I come see it.
Good luck to all of you with every wonderful thing that the future will bring and have a safe trip back to St. Louis!"
Lauren Lantrip, Houston, TX: January 10, 2006 - "Hey Lindsay and Molly i think ya'll are the best!! You have such a beautiful voice and are very talented. I just came back from the ANNIE show and it was awesome!!! Keep up the good work!!!"
Nicki Amos, Seattle, WA: January 9, 2006 - "Hello! I took my four year old daughter to see "Annie", and during the orphans scene she just wanted to leap on stage with them! I was so impressed with Molly and Lindsay's performance and enjoyed reading your website. Being an actress, I can fully appreciate your family's need to end a lengthy national tour, especially when you have very young children at home. Thank you Molly and Lindsay for inspiring my daughter with your amazing talent; I think she's hooked on theatre now!"
Nancy Fournier, St. Louis, MO: January 9, 2006 - "Dear Kim, Molly and Lindsay, I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed the show at the FOX. It brought tears and goosebumps all at the same time. Nancy was thrilled that I included her in our "girls night out". I can't even explain the overwhelming admiration we have for Molly and Lindsay. They are both so very talented and what a joy it was to watch. Megan was so proud that she could say she had autographs from her cousings but even more proud to know she got them at church because we know all the BLESSINGS they have received have come from knowing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. May you all continue to look to him for all that you desire. Kim, we now realize, from your letter on the website, that you are all coming home soon. May God continue to bless the entire RYAN family. All of our love, in Christ, The Fournier's"
Gina Neidel, St. Louis, MO: January 8, 2006 - "RYAN GIRLS!! wow!! You girls stole the show in St. Louis...as I'm sure you have in every other city you've visited! How awesome that you got to perform in your hometown exactly during the holidays! I was so proud to say that I knew you! I was at the mall buying my tickets to see the show, and we told the sales woman we needed the best seats she had because we knew people in the show. A few minutes later, she asked if the people we knew were the two adorable sisters she has seen on the news! Everyone knows who you are, YOU'RE FAMOUS! There were so many times during the show that you gave me goose bumps! It was fabulous! Keep singing, dancin', and following your dreams! There is no doubt in my mind that they won't come true! Everyone at Motion loves you! Keep up the good work and congrats! Come visit as often as possible!"
Ben Davis, Houston, TX: January 6, 2006 - "I went to the Houston showing of Annie on January 6th and was blown away by you all's singing, acting, and dancing. As I was riding home, I told my girlfriend to remember the name 'Lindsay Ryan' because we are going to hear big things from her! Thanks for the great show and keep up the great performances. God Bless."
Samantha Calabro, Spring, TX: January 6, 2006 - "Dear Molly and Lindsay, Ya'll were great tonight! I loved the show. You 2 were the best...good luck with your tour. Your fan, Samantha"
Jack Ciapciak, St. Louis, MO: January 5, 2006 - "Dear Kim, Molly and Lindsay were both amazing in the show at The Fox! Molly's solo in "Smile" was fantastic! Lindsay's performance of "Molly" was outstanding! They both are so talented! I was so excited when I first saw them on the Fox stage. Julia Sinks was sitting next to me and she was going crazy when the overture started, lol! The production was definitely the best production of "Annie" I have ever seen! Not only were your girls fantastic, but every other cast member as well! The other orphans were great and Casey was hilarious as "Tessie." I am going to see you guys when you are in Chicago and I can't wait! I am going to send you pictures of the other orphans like I did for Molly & Lindsay. Good Luck on the rest of the Tour!"
Daniel Perkins, St. Louis, MO: January 2, 2006 - "Molly and Lindsay, I can't believe how well you two did at the Fox Theater. At the beginning, Lindsay, you had the first line and I thought I was going to cry. I've known you for 10 years and I always knew that you two were going to become famous some how. I just can't believe how well you guys sang and danced. Every time you guys finished a song, I was the first one to start to clap. I'm so proud of you two. I'm so lucky to have famous cousins. I can tell all of my friends "hey, guess what, I have two famous cousins named Molly and Lindsay Ryan." Those names go together like peanut butter and jelly. As they say in acting, 'break a leg.' Remember that I love you two and I always will. I wish I could see all of your shows but I have school. If there were no such thing as school I would go to the ends of the earth to see you two again. When I was at the show, I laughed and cried. I just could not believe how good you did. I'm sorry I did not get to say good bye to you guys. Well, I've got to go, I've got school in the morning and I can't wake up late. I love you Molly, Lindsay and Aunt Kim. I can't wait to see you again. Love you lots."
Andrea Kimberling, St. Louis, MO: January 2, 2006 - "I still cannot believe that its already been a year ago in December that Lindsay and I were in Honk! together! She truly blossomed as a young actress and did a stunning performance as 'Molly' at the Fox! Molly was amazing when it came to be her time to shine on stage as 'Duffy.' She too has grown to be a great actress. I'm so proud of both of them. Well done! Best of luck and may God continue to bless you and your family. Much love from 'Ida'!"
Lisa Casciola, St. Louis, MO: January 2, 2006 - "Dear Lindsay and Molly, I just wanted to write you a short note to express my happiness! When I saw you both on stage at the Fox, I was overwhelmed with joy. I had to hold back the tears as I watched you sing, dance, and act with complete professionalism.
I then thought back to the day I asked Molly to sing a song and was so impressed with her talent. I thought back to sitting at the piano with Lindsay singing and dancing to our favorite songs. Sitting at the piano with you both teaching the basics of piano playing. Working on duets for your church talent show and preparing for many auditions. I thought about the years we have been together and I thought about how far you both have come.
Lindsay-you are the reason I met your wonderful family and I am so grateful to have you in my life. On stage, you are so spectacular! You are a delight to watch and I had a hard time keeping my eyes off you while you were performing. You have such a kind, sweet, innocent, and caring heart. I just love that about you.
Molly-You are a dynamo on stage! Lighting it up with your strong voice and incredible stage presence. You really seemed like a natural up there. I love that you are a confident, caring, and vibrant young lady. I look forward to seeing your future endeavors.
I am truly speechless at the talent that is surrounding you beautiful girls. You have such a bright future and I am so excited to see where God leads you. I will pray for you as you finish the tour and look forward to your return to Saint Louis. I love you both so very much and I thank you for letting me be a part of your journey! With love, Lisa Casciola"
Jen Hankey, St. Louis, MO: January 1, 2006 - "While I initially hoped that Annie wouldn't come to St. Louis-- only because I'll take any excuse for a weekend vacation (to see you perform, of course) -- I realized today how much better it is to bring all of my friends to the Fox to see MY FAMILY in a professional touring company. Molly and Lindsay, you are so talented and you challenge me to truly live up to my God-given ability. My mom (Susan Braswell) had tears streaming down her face and said "I wish Diana could see this," and I wanted to tell everyone I could, "Those are my cousins!" Kim, I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you (fortuantely the GOOD kind of difficult) and I truly applaud you. My prayer is that someday I can be the kind of Mom you are. What a juggling act!! Best of luck and you are ALWAYS in our thoughts and prayers."
